Membership of the Stroke Society of Australasia is open to professionals working in the field of stroke, or in kindred fields, who have an active interest in the work and aims of the Society. Our current membership includes physicians (e.g. neurologists, geriatricians, rehabilitation specialists), other medical professionals, non-medical clinicians (e.g. nurses, physiotherapists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists), researchers (e.g. basic scientists, epidemiologists), and professionals from government and non-government organisations.
A prospective member must be nominated by an existing member, using the membership application form below. Anyone who does not know an existing member should contact the secretariat. Prospective members will then be put in touch with an existing member who will agree to nominate them. In this instance, prospective members should also provide a Curriculum Vitae.
Membership runs from January 1st to December 31st each year and there is no reduction available for mid-year commencement.
Once received, all applications are then considered for approval by the Committee of Management of the Stroke Society of Australasia at their monthly meeting.
Membership of the Society cannot be transferred or transmitted to another person, and is terminated upon cessation of their membership whether by death or resignation or otherwise.
