Asia Pacific Stroke Organisation

The Asia Pacific Stroke Organisation was established in 2009 with objectives as follows:

  1. To promote and encourage the advancement of scientific knowledge, research and practice in all aspects of stroke and associated cerebrovascular disease, and to coordinate the exchange and dissemination of this knowledge and expertise throughout the Asia Pacific Region.
  2. To promote, encourage and organize the post-graduate training and participate in the continuing education process of other members of health professional organizations in the field of stroke
  3. To influence the policy for stroke practice and improve the health service.

The significant population in the Asia Pacific highlights the imperative to manage the burden of stroke in this region through knowledge enhancement, service provision and contemporary research. The annual Asia Pacific Stroke Conference provides the platform for clinicians and scientists to collaborate and disseminate important new learnings to the Asia Pacific community.
