Stroke Course, Northern Sydney Central Coast - NSW Health
Thursday 30 September and Thursday 7 October 2010, 8.30am - 4.30pm
This two-day series has been designed to equip nursing and allied health staff with the necessary critical thinking skills and clinical expertise to provide optimal care for patients affected by stroke. From the acute presentation, through early rehabilitation and into the community and including post stroke needs, this series aims to meet the current needs of those health professionals directly responsible for providing specific skills/care for stroke patients.

- Pathophysiology of stroke
- Diagnosis
- Medical management and treatment of stroke
- Care in the hospital environment
- Monitoring for Arrhythmia
- Thrombolysis
- Rehabilitation
- Allied Health Roles
- Research and Ethics
- Stroke from the Individual and Carers Perspective
Target: All Nurses and Allied Health providing care for patients who have been affected by Stroke - from the acute setting through to rehabilitation.
