| Two
encouragement awards, the Peter Bladin Award sponsored by the Stroke
Society of Australasia and the National Stroke Foundation Award,
will be made to the most outstanding presentations by new investigators
at each annual scientific meeting.

To
be eligible the investigator must:
- Be
undergoing or have completed an accredited post-graduate/undergraduate
training program, or commenced full-time academic research,
whichever is most recent, no more than 5 years before the closing
date for abstracts;
- Be
a member of the Stroke Society of Australasia;
- Be
first author on the paper;
- Have
contributed substantially to the design and conduct of the research
study;
- Complete
and return the enclosed application form with the abstract,
and together with certification of new investigator status.
The
applicant must nominate which abstract is to be considered for the
award, and only one abstract can be nominated by each applicant.
Previous winners of the award are ineligible.
The

Note
for Platform Presentations:
Adhering
to your allocated time to allow for questions, and the way you deal
with them, form a significant part of the overall assessment.
Note
for Poster Presentations:
You
should stand by your poster during the period allocated to poster
presentations in order to answer questions concerning your work.
